the way

Here I am practicing drawing guys. These are all guys, believe it or not! I sketched Peter from San Domingo, the Medicine Hat Stallion. In the center is Gale from the Hunger Games. This is one of the ways I imagined he looked from the books. And below him is Hart from the Last Holiday Concert. The only guy I drew full-body was the kid on the right side. I didn’t draw him, however, with any specific character in mind, so I guess I just made him up.

This is a drawing of a particular actor. It is not very representational so you probably will not be able to guess who it is, but I like the way he turned out anyway.

Kicking off Inktober with some creepiness for the prompt "Ring". I never do this all the way through but maybe this year is the year.

Found this quote a few days back, and it really resonated with me. The message is clear that we really shouldn't wait for the "perfect moment" or spend too much time looking for the "easy way" as neither of these options truly exist, they are in effect excuses for not getting on and doing what needs to be done. in order to achieve our goals. If we are honest with ourselves "now" is always the best time, and doing rather than thinking about doing is the way forward. My fan art of Season One, Episode One of #NewGirl. I both miss and love the show so much and have probably binged watched it all the way through about 50x times or more. I believe I captured Nick's turtle face perfectly. Thoughts? :)

Love the way this one came out.. Art is my favorite thing in the world. Here there is probably people that can understand this feeling, this passion. The more you do art the more you want to do art, and the more you need it. Art is amazing.

Deffinitely the way forward, models that never move and lighting that never changes, I might even go back and complete this next week......

Pencil Drawing

A quick sketch of a man holding a cup of coffee. This was drawn from a reference photo. Lately I've been practicing portraits. Trying to limit myself to 20 mins or so and just draw the basic form as best I can. Otherwise I'll fiddle with the details and spend hours trying to adjust things. Sketching in ink helps also since I can't erase. Need to get more comfortable sketching faster, but I like the way this turned out.

I drew a face and another and another and crap -- it's just faces all the way down.

Something a teacher said led me to imagine a world of pink clouds and golden castles, playing along the way with prime numbers. I'd like to add more patterns to my sketchbook now.
